Park Areca Jardin Botanique is a water front park with lovely views out to sea. It’s a great place to walk around. The highlight of this park is a fantastic play area two story pirate ship with swings and climbing that the kids will love.

The park itself is pleasant for a walk, but with young children its best feature is definitely the excellent playground, with several unusual features for playgrounds in this part of the world. There is some shade (not everywhere, but at least some); there is a really wonderful pirate-ship climbing frame, large with two levels and plenty of activities for many ages; they have a swing – only one proper swing but they seem to be practically extinct on the Côte d’Azur. The only others we found (despite some desperate searching for our swinging-mad nearly-two-year-old) were on the Promenade de Paillon in Nice, and in the otherwise dismal playground at the Parc de Vaugrenier outside Antibes.
